Caring for your tattoo

Getting a tattoo is just the first step. How you care for your skin afterward determines how your tattoo will look forever.

Right after your session

  • Your tattoo is clean and free of bandages.

  • Do not cover the area or use plastic or gauze.

  • Your skin may be irritated or sensitive; this is normal.

First 2 days: Cleaning only

  • Wash the tattoo 3 times a day, with:

    • Warm water (neither hot nor cold)

    • Neutral, fragrance-free soap (such as white soap or mild antibacterial soap)

  • Wash with the palm of your hand, without sponges or cloths.

  • Pat dry with a disposable paper towel.

🚫 Do not apply creams during this period.
Let the skin breathe and begin to close on its own.

From day 3 onwards

  • Continue washing twice a day (morning and night).

  • Apply a very thin layer of your recommended skincare cream (perfume and alcohol free).

  • Don't apply too much cream — the skin needs to breathe.

What to avoid during the first 2–3 weeks

  • Direct exposure to the sun

  • Beach, pool, sauna or river

  • Intense exercise that causes chafing or excessive sweating

  • Scratching or picking at scabs (let them fall off on their own)

Final tips

  • Do not wear tight clothing over the tattoo for the first few days.

  • If your skin becomes irritated, reddened, or oozes, please consult me.

  • Remember: every skin heals differently. Follow the recommendations and listen to your body.
